Flu Vaccination Clinic – April 2026

Protect yourself and your loved ones before flu season arrives.

At BHWC, we are pleased to be running a Flu Vaccination Clinic throughout April 2026. Now is the ideal time to get vaccinated — annual influenza vaccination is recommended from April onward to ensure you are protected before the peak flu season, which in Victoria typically runs from June to September.

Why Get Vaccinated This Year?

Influenza (the flu) is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can affect people of all ages and, in some cases, lead to serious complications, hospitalisation, or worse. Vaccination is one of the safest and most effective ways to protect yourself, your family, and vulnerable members of our community.

Getting vaccinated in April means your immunity is at its strongest when you need it most — protection is generally highest in the first 3–4 months following your jab.

Who Should Get the Flu Vaccine?

Influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over.

Free vaccination is available under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for:

  • Children aged 6 months to under 5 years
  • Adults aged 65 years and over (with a specific high-dose vaccine available)
  • Pregnant women
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
  • People with certain medical conditions that increase their risk of severe illness

If you are not eligible for a free vaccine, affordable private vaccination options are available — please call us to find out more.
